Anyone push the 120 NBT at 7 Mag velocities?
Notice any bullet failure?
Nosler recommends velocity under 3200fps so i am a little skeptical about using them.... Thanks.

Both myself and my best pal shoot the 120's in 7mm Mags.. I just got a box to load in my old 700.. Shot in 3" high at 100 I can hold on top of a gallon milk jug and hit the bottom at 400 yards.. It is one of our favorite coyote and antelope bullets..

I shoot the 120 gr Nosler BT from a 7mm RM. It's one of the longest bullets a current favorite that's twisted 1-12" will shoot.

They are accurate.

Also the 110 gr X bullet seems to shoot well in that rifle. I might choose it over the 120 Nosler for more than broadside shots.

My hunting pard shoots them in his 7rm at 3500. He swears by them and I have seen proof on 2 good size white tail bucks.

DRT on both of them. High shoulder in and out the other side. I would shoot them if the 150 SSII didn't shoot so well in my 7rm

I used to use those 120 NBTs in my 7 Rem mag. Maxed out at 3575 fps with RL-22. It was used for longer shots on coues wt before I embraced turrets and high BC bullets.

There used to be a thread on the 120 where all sorts of animals were taken and some information on the toughness of this bullet. Perhaps someone can dredge it up.

I ran some over 3700 with a 28" STW....they held together just fine.

I've ran them through bear, muleys, flagtails and antelope at 3500fps from my 7 and have yet to recover a bullet....ranges from 20ft to WAY out there.

Thanks,

The rifle is not signed by who made it or it's stock in particular. The action is an FN however the 24" barrel is twisted 1-12". It's a nine pound rifle scoped and requires a slip on pad over that steel butt at the range.

While it put two 110 X's together at 100 yds the other day at 200 it made a 5" group!

I may shoot the 120 Noslers again.

Thanks for all the replies. It was just what i was hoping to hear.
I like your stock, but it's just begging to places on a .375 with iron sites.

I loaded some 120s for my BIL. The load was very accurate. I was with him when he shot a white-tail buck at 310 yards. The deer died, but there was a big splash effect. I would not shoot them again. The 140-class bullets have better ballistics out far and stay together a bit better.

What's the problem with: "A big splash effect?"

The BC of the Nosler 120 Ballistic Tip is .417 which is not bad.

I am trying to argue that the bullet is OK as it's about all that a 1-12" twisted 7mm RM I just got will shoot. So far the 110X bullet is not consistent and it's BC is only .319!
