Posted By: 16bore Re: Campfire Pet Loads - 03/06/15
They are over at AR with the rest of the ascot and brandy brigade.
Posted By: Higginez Re: Campfire Pet Loads - 03/06/15
Add a link. It's simple. There are way too many threads and cartridges for me to find them all. If you guys know of one I left out, link it here. Just copy the link, and hit reply on my original post on this thread. That will bring up a posting form with icons above it. Click on the 2nd one with the earth and paper clip icon. Right click and paste it in the pop up and then name it in the second pop up.

GREAT idea, Thnx.

Any favorite 284 Win loads?

I'm starting my FIRST 284 project and don't have anything to go on except loading manuals. I don't recall Bob Hagel printing loads for the 284.

Thnx Again

No problem jmall. Here ya go.

Good .284 loads
Posted By: jwall Re: Campfire Pet Loads - 03/07/15
THNX again Highbean.

I'll be using the 139 HBTSP also. I have a cache of Surplus 4831, aka JOC 4831. I have a ladder test set up waiting on decent weather.

Having used IMR 4350, IMR 4831, & Surplus 4831 my 'expected' load is in line with those who posted charges.

I appreciated it very much.

No problem 8beers!
Posted By: ABLE Re: Campfire Pet Loads - 05/23/15
I like this a great deal. Obviously it is not fun going through 20 pages of posting of favorite loads.

Can you add a section for 7 STW LOADS?? and another section for 30/30 winchester loads???

Also if the sections were alphabetized in order that would help a great deal if that is not asking too much. I to much trouble this I can sort through.
Posted By: Higginez Re: Campfire Pet Loads - 05/23/15
Good 7 STW loads

My new favorite is 42 grs. IMR 4759, 220 gr. Hornady for my 375 H&H Magnum. Good woods loads for deer.

6.5x47L ? There is very little published data
Posted By: longjohn Re: Campfire Pet Loads - 10/25/16
What, no pet loads for the .222? How's this; 21.5gn H4198 and a 40gn Hornady Vmax. gets me about 3,250fps out of a 20inch barrel on my Zastava M85 with a Boyd's Walnut stock. Winchester cases and a CCI small rifle BR primer. Great fox load, and over here we have a wild dog problem, and they don't like it either.

Find your own pet load thread here. Then hotlink it with the "earth and paper clip" icon above the reply box. So simple, even a fire member could do it.... Maybe.

My rechambered Ruger liked 160NP with 55.0/H4350. I whacked (harvested) over 50 Caribou over the years with that load. It is the load in Ackley #1.

Why can't we view the 300 WSM loads
Posted By: Higginez Re: Campfire Pet Loads - 05/30/17
I have no clue why the hot link died.

Try this one.

Good .300 WSM loads

Whole bunch of possibly good loads.
Posted By: Highoctane Re: Campfire Pet Loads - 01/19/18
I just recently bought a Ruger American in 7mm08 for my grandson. Put together a couple loads and finally got to the range.

The first consisted of 41 grs Varget, WLR. primer, Rem case and 140 gr Sierra GK's seated to 2.760. That load shot just under an inch, .991 at 100 yds.

Second consisted of 45 grs H414, WLR primer, Rem case and 140 gr Nosler Partitions, seated to 2.810...It shot an outstanding .390!!...

I may bump the charge weight up a half grain or so on the Varget and try again but with the way that H414 and Partitions shot I may just "call it good"... : grin

135 Berger classic hunter behind 61.5 H1000 (only safe in my rifle, work up your loads). 3100 FPS, 24” barrel and groups well for me

I’d love to see a section on 270wsm loads.
Posted By: Doc_Holidude Re: Campfire Pet Loads - 01/30/23
I see there’s a .35 Whelen pet load link, but no .358 Win. link. Can we get a .358 Win link?
Posted By: MtnBoomer Re: Campfire Pet Loads - 08/22/23
While we're on the cutting edge of modern cartridge design.... How about some Campfire approved 38-55 Winchester loads?
