Lightweight custom rifle

As a senior citizen I would like a custom order very light-weight hunting (long range) mountain rifle, 7mm RSAUM, made of light but the best components which could be found on the USA market.

I would appreciate if you could advice who are the manufacturers in USA
1. Titanium (custom) short action (and to be the lightest on the market)
2. Carbon rifle barrel (the lightest on the market) giving great precision
3. Carbon-Kevlar rifle stock (not heavier than 20Oz together with recoil pad) adjusted to diameter of the carbon barrel.

1. Pierce has a short ti action, but it may be difficult to work from the shoulder. Mine is. There is a new to me Titanium company I saw the other day. I don't remember its name. If I did another rifle I would switch to a different company.
2. Proof Research claims good accuracy. Christensen is cheaper, but does not claim accuracy.
3. MPI in Portland, Oregon made a custom stock for me. If you use the Hastings Micro-cell 1.26" it will be 3 oz or less.

You realize, if it's overly light, it may be harder to shoot.

Ultra light and long range may not be that compatible, IMO.

A man wants what he wants, but if I wanted light and accurate I'd avoid the hassle. I'd dial Melvin Forbes' number.

That is a great suggestion, probably the best combo of light and accurate in an affordable package that you'll find.

Look at the Kimber Adirondack... save some $ and still get a tack driver.

Saving money is always good, but it looks like the OP is ready to drop some bucks.

I'd like to see ten Kimbers lined up against ten of Melvin's rifles to see what's what about probable outcomes.

Kimbers are good guns, the Adirondack is really light.

From what I've read and observed, Melvin's guns are more of a sure bet regarding accuracy than Kimber.

I know, I'll catch flak from that statement. You'll spend a few more bucks with Melvin, but you'll be done.

The OP could spend more going custom and end up with less...

I have some light rifles that are very accurate and do pretty well at a distance. With these, I like a Jewell trigger set pretty light.

Too much trigger wt. makes very light guns even harder to shoot. They're tough enough with a perfect trigger.

Nothing does as well as a Jewell in the 1.5# class. At 2.5# or so, I'd just as soon have a Timney.
