I have both powders on hand, plan on loading some 140 accubonds . Any recommendations?
I'd try the H-4350 with the 140's first.

That would be my go to if starting out again.

Agree with the H4350. I've never used it in mine but I've burned a lot of IMR-4350 in it with 139 BTSP with great results. H4831 never performed as well for me.
I use H4350 with 120's and 4831sc with 150's in the improved version.
I think you will be a lot happier with the H4831. I use it with my standard and AI loads with the 140 AB
I use 61 grains of H4831 with a 140 Accubond in my Rem 700 .280 for just under 3000 fps. It's quite accurate. That's a max load and naturally you would need to work up to it in your rifle.

66no -

IF you're open to another powder, IMR 7828 should work well.
Good Luck

I've only loaded for three .280's, but in all three H4831 worked better with all weights than either IMR4350 or H4350. (In one rifle RL-19 was the most accurate powder, though not by much over H4831.)

Have also had better luck with H4831 than either IMR or H4350 in two .280 AI's.

H4831 is the go to powder in the 280 Standard or AI
H4831 if choosing between those two in mine. RL19 is all I use in mine now. RL19 and the 140AB has been fantastic in my .280

I don't use either one in the half dozen 280's I've had or still have.

But of the two mentioned, H4831, hands down..........it will work well enough with 140, 150, 160 & 175 grain bullets.

I've found that RL-19 is best all around for me with 140's & for 150's & heavier, RL-22 or Norma MRP (interchangeable) are better performers...........H4831 might be a better choice if only hunting in -20F weather, but that's about the only time; I've not been hunting much in that kind of weather lately, myself.

RL-26 is reputed to be even better, but since I haven't tried it yet myself, I can't directly vouch for it.

Feed it like a 270

Try some IMR 4350!

Try both...:)

But I'd start w/the 4831 if you are short on time...

^^^^^^ This.

The 4831 gets you a bit higher velocity than the 4350 with the same pressure, but your particular rifle may prefer 4350 accuracy-wise.
