Where does it fall on the burn rate chart? Very little load data is available. I've got a fresh pound to try.
It's close to RL22, but in my limited experience is a bit faster.

just stop a hair below max, and no issues experienced...
it did well for lack of sensitivity in summer 100 degree plus heat here in Oregon.
Not sure of the burn rate and I don't think Alliant is to sure either.
I think this powder (RL23) is overlooked and underestimated because of RL26 which is the new wonder powder today.
Shooting both powders with medium weight bullets for caliber, RL 23 gives me higher speeds with better accuracy.
One example, In a 7mm Rem Mag 24" barrel, 140 bullets, I am getting 3,300 with tiny groups.
And I agree with Seafire, It is NOT a temp sensitive powder.
I bought 8 lbs of it if that means anything....

I have tested the same .260 Remington load with 140-grain AccuBond's at 70 and zero degrees, and the load was 35 fps faster at zero, which may or may not mean anything. POI was the same. So far that's my only formal temp-test.
My temperature testing was shooting at 45 degrees and then 105 degrees. My ES and SD didn't change with POI the same.
Based on _limited_ work, I also find Re-23 to be as much or more heat resistant as anything.
My bottles or lots of Re-23 are noticeably less dense (more fluffy?) than Re-26. This means I can choose between the two to a degree to achieve best case fill.
Works good in my new Sako A7 in 270 Win. With 140gr Accubonds 5 shot group all holes touching.
Only trouble I have is getting enough in case. I,m going to play around some more with this powder.
Alliant's numbers with the 243 look promising for speed with the heavies. Bought a pound this week to send down my shorty 243.
