I've got an urge to mix things up a bit and try out some 220 grain bullets for my spring bear hunt. Does anyone have details on a good load to share?

What bullet are you planning? I've had good results with both hornadys and noslers using Reloader 22
I've been told that a 200 grain partition is the ticket for bear. 53 grains of H4350. I plan on trying it for AK grizzly next year. Bob

Likely Sierra ProHunters or Nosler Partitions. I tried the 220 grain Hornady many years ago and it was a rather soft bullet. Unlike most Sierras, the 220 grain ProHunter has a good reputation for penetration.

I have been using Sierra 220 gr RN for years on elk with great success using H4831, 58 .5 gr pushing them about 2500 fps. They might be discontinued now. At my age,I have a life time supply of them.If you use this load, work up to it.

I prefer the H4350 in 180 gr loads
