Building an all weather hunting load 1st up is Reloder 33 in 1x Nosler brass & Federal 215 primers and 250 Accubond as they are a bit cheaper than the LRX. Went from starting load of 96.0 up to a near max 103.0 grains @ 1.0 grain per jump. The bolt lift & primer appearance was similar all thru the testing, chronograph showed a steady climb in velocities starting at low of just -2600 up to a high of 2820 fps. Rifle is a stock Remington model 700 with the original stock 26" stainless barrel. As of right now I'm thinking RL33 might be a touch too slow & am looking at other powders.

I'd like to try a temp resistant powder like H-1000, or perhaps a faster burner like Reloder 26. Then there is the new unicorn powder N 565 that is formulated especially for the 338 Laupa & 250 bullets, that one has my attention as its temp resistant, low flash & has the de-coppering agent added in.

Any thoughts from the fire?

Semi custom Rem 338 RUM w/26" bbl - 89.0 gr RE26 in a Nosler case with Federal 215M primer gets me 3,000 ft/sec and 2" groups at 400yds without much difficulty.
I use H-1000 and Fed 215 mag with a 250 grain Nosler Partition in my .338 RUM.
