I have a rem 760 in 300 savage that I have been reloading for years and have found that it likes 150 gr bullets the best. I recently had 2 box’s of Speer Grand Slam given two me so been rolling around the idea of loading them up didn’t know if anyone had ever tried this combo and how it worked?

When I was hunting whitetails in NH with the 300 Savage I loaded the 170 grain Remington RNCL 30-30 bullets and was very pleased with the accuracy, the expansion, and the penetration.

No experience with that load. But love the 760 in .300 Savage.

A fantastic white tail killer

Yes it is an awesome little rifle! It’s not my normal go to but I can’t remember the last season I didn’t carry it at least one day. I have been hooked since the first deer I killed with it.

No one answered the OP’s question, I believe that he is already aware that his rifle is awesome but he wants to use his own new bullets. The 150 Grand Slam bullets had a very hard rear core and soft nose, plus the jacket is thin at the nose. They have been out of production for years, but the current MagTip bullets are similar in tip construction. I have used the 150 MagTip bullets in my .300 Savage Contender with good success in both accuracy and terminal performance. I suspect - but do not know directly - that the OP could expect similar results with the Grand Slam bullet.
