So I have been playing with this combo.
Rifle is proven with 140’s and 150’s
1:9 twist.

No glory with RL-22 or 4831. It seems like it wants to be pushed more with both but I am not wanting to push. I have played with seating depth at 55/56 RL22 but not enough improvement in either for my satisfaction.

I would prefer MOA at 2750-2800 ish. What powder next?

I really want this to work out and the struggle is real.

210m primers.
Virgin R-P. 2.10 trim.
Collet neck sized

Not sorting.

2750-2800 is pushing the .280 Rem with 162 gr. Bullets, but it is achievable. I have a Ruger Hawkeye with a 22” barrel that likes the 162 ELDX driven by RL17. I’m a shade over 2800. I killed an elk with that combo last year. It worked well.

Good luck.

Try Rl17, it is the most accurate powder out of my 280 with the 180 ELD, I have not tried the 162's as the 180 is a .75 MOA or less load.

RL-17 should get it done.

I have 17 on the shelf. I didn't even think to try it with the 160s. The rifle digs 4350 with 140s and 17 has a similar burn rate. I figured it to be a little to fast burning.

Where are you fellas finding your nodes? Alliant's data shows 51.5gr.

I will give it a go...

Never tried it but imr 7828 may work good with a 162 grain

Check the Alliant website, their loads have been consistent for me in varying calibers with RL17, 2000-MR, RL19, 22, 26 etc.
