Looking for some good reload data on 6.5-06AI using 140-143 gr bullets. I am waiting for a 26", 1:8 McGowen Barrel. Need some options for reloading powders and starting points. Appreciate any info I can get.

I have a 1:8 (Pacnor) 26" AI version. I use Re-22 with 120 SPH's (shot an antelope with it last year) and H1000 with 160 Woodleighs (which the 1:8 twist handles well). Sorry to bracket you, but I haven't shot many 140's with it--I prefer the 120's.

Another quick question for you. Do you After forming do you full size resize or do you neck resize?

I considered doing this once and was just going to get 280AI dies and 6.5 neck bushing. Then it would be slightly different, a 6.5-280AI.

Idahobob, It may be too late for this suggestion/idea, but have you considered doing a 6.5x280AI.? No fire forming is necessary, just necking down a .280AI case to 6.5. Easy as you please.

Both. I might neck size once or twice for bench work but then always go back to FL. If I had to only choose one method, it would definitely be FL. I have not had much case stretch with that Improved case.

Have been away for a few days. I really appreciate all the posts. I did get some reading in last night. Appears a lot of people do exactly what peeshooter said and use a 280 die with a 6.5 neck bushing. There us still a small difference, usually around .02+- that concerns me about what it would do to the brass.
