I am sure that if I spent enough time searching I could probably come to a pretty good conclusion, but most of the conversations I have found seem to focus on the lightweight 120's to the midweight 140's. I'm really interested in working with the Hornady 150 grain ELD-X bullets, and even though it might be covered already somewhere maybe those in the know won't mind posting on a new thread.

Thank you in advance.

I like H-4350 with the ELD-X 150gn. 44gn hits a node in a 20" bbl.
I liked H4895. I tried the usually 4064, Varget/RL15 route but couldn't get the velocity out of them that 4895 could deliver.
I have worked up loads with Hunter and Big Game to try when it warms up.

Tried RL16, wasn’t impressed.
Pharmseller has strongly recommended BIg Game with the 150 ELDX multiple times on this site.

45.6 of RL-17 gets me 3/4” groups and 2,770fps from a 22”.

Another powder to try is Power Pro 2000mr I have gotten good speed out of it. Another slightly less is W760.

Pay attention to this load.

Deer and elk. 2790 FPS. Plenty potent.

Guess I will try and find some Big Game again. Since you wrote that I have looked for it twice and ended up using H414.
I did some for the DA and used H-414.

It was the same load that i use in my 7x57.

He had not shot it till then and was liking the groups.

Ive tried H414, Varget, RL16 and Big Game with 150 gr NBT's. I have found that the 150 gr NBT's shoot best with Big Game powder!
Shorter range deer hunters should try the 150g Sierra btsp, loudest PLOP you have ever heard!

Again, R#17

I have a load with the 150g nosler long range accubond with R#19 with a cci 250 that is awesome at some distance. This works out great because this bullet really likes to jump, another loud plop on deer.
Big Game works for me.
Told ya.

Never could get Big Game to shoot well in a couple of 7-08’s, but H4350 has always performed. A 150 at 2,700 works, but I prefer the 140 at 2,800. Kicks less, works equally well.

Speaking from experience, he’s right.

Anyone try Power Pro 4000mr. Looks to me you can get more of it in the case than many of the other

slow powder like RL26. RL26 worked pretty well in my Tikka with 160 grain bullets. Biggest problem with

7mm-08 is getting enough in the case. I know get a bigger gun.
Powder options are pretty sketchy...at least for the popular ones...decided to give IMR Enduron 4166 a whirl. When it finally warms up enough to enjoy being outside I'll report the results.
BLC-2, H414, H4350, CFE223
fed brass fed mag primer 45.5 h380 2.83 150 e tip max or over it according to hodgon and it's coming out of a long throated tikka

Tried PP4000mr on Sunday Best speed was 2742 with 145 gr Speer BT Sp #1628. Group looked like I shot it with a shot gun.

Tried RL17 and RL 26 same 145gr speer BT SP Win cases and CCI 250 primers. Those 2 shot good groups at 2880 FPS for both.

will work on more.

shot 2900 FPS using Hunter with 130gr Speer BT Sp 215M primer win case very accurate.

SD on RL17 for 6 shots was 10.8 SD on the RL26 with 5 shots was 40.0 think I,ll spend more time on

RL17 and RL16.
Anyone tried the 155 Federal TLR in the 7mm-08 yet?
44.5 gr H4350 with 150 ELDX 2630 ft per sec
I've got some 4451 and 154ssts to play with. Anyone done some work with 4451?
