So I have one of these with all the pilots (or mandrels) of different diameters.
I am facing 2 problems:

1. When I full length resize and try to turn necks it is literally impossible to get the neck into the pilot. It will not go in!

2. The adjustment wheel has a lot of play in it. Almost 45* turn to get the cutter to tighten up (where you can feel adjustment being made) in either direction.

What am I doing wrong?????

is there a better tool?????????//

There should be an Expander Mandrel in the set that opens the neck enough to have just a slight clearance on the Turning Mandrel. I don't have THAT tool, but it would appear that making adjustments to the cutter from one direction only might work best. I set mine with a feeler gage.
Lube the mandrel. It slips in a lot easier...

That's what she told me!
Evidently my dies produce a very tight neck. I finally got it figured out
Fotis, just curious what you did. I have a K&M neck turner and I had the expander but I was sizing up 6.5-284 to 6.8-284 and the expander made my neck too loose on the bullet. I didn't want to work the brass even more, so I lubed the mandrel which was also a inside neck cut and shoved it in the case (without expanding it with the mandrel), turned the neck, and ended up with exactly .002 neck tension on ever round. That Forester looks really close to a K&M.
I chucked the pilot in my drill and used emery cloth (a small spin at a time) until the pilot fit my 338-378 neck, after I FLR the case. Now it fits them all with just a skosh of difficulty. Just tight enough....
