Found a great load for 140gr. ballistic tips in my 270 wsm. Just wondering how similar the 140 accubond behaves. Would max loads be about the same. Also, would an optimal load in w the Ballistic Tip, be the same or close to the Accubond in the same weight and caliber?

I would think they would be close on target.

Done the same with 130 grain in the 270 Win.with different bullets and was surprised.

On most Nosler bullets your load is pretty much interchangeable between the Accubond and ballistic tip, however you have chosen the one that is not.!!!!

The .277" 140gr Ballistic tip has a BC of .456 and the Accubond has a BC of .496
I thought this was a mis print until I tried them both and they are two different bullets.
your load might work but might need to be tweaked a bit

I noticed that difference in BC as well. Wonder if the accubond would have a longer bearing surface and reach pressure at a lower powder volume?

I used mainly Accubonds in 225gr in 338 Win Mag, on elk and decided to try the Ballistic Tips. On target @300 yds. you could barely tell the difference. On elk @340 yds they performed well. Hole was quite a bit bigger but the job got done.

The 7mm 140's were interchangeable in my 7-08, confirmed to 600.

Check to see if the Combined technology version is longer than the BT. In some cases they are. I would bet for initial load development at 100 yds. the BT would work fine. Just do final load and sight in with the AB.

I use the 140 Accubonds in my 270 WSM. The Ballistic tips shoot the same.
