For the 3 or 4 guys on the planet who probably have ANY interest in this concept...

Put a barrel from Douglas chambered in a 6 x 45, or 6 x 223 for those who can't figure that out... don't know why I didn't chamber one of these 30 years ago... I would have shot a lot less 22 caliber bullets...

Been playing with bullets from 70 grains to 105 in the Savage 6 x 45 barrel, but since I shoot a lot of Blue Dot on sage rats, and I have a good supply of Speer 70 grain TNTs and also a bunch of 75 grain HPs, from Sierra, Speer and Hornady, of course I had to give it a try... For my sage rat trip over to K Falls fairly soon, loaded up 300 rounds for a road trip safari on sage rats.

6 x 45, 70 TNT Speer HP. Win SR Primer Savage Action..

1. 12.0 grs : 1.) 2300 fps 2.) 2330 fps

2. 12.5 gr: 1.) 2360 fps 2.) 'Error'

3. 13.0 gr: 1.) 2481 fps 2.) 2481 fps

4. 13.5 gr: 1.) 2507 fps 2.) 2592 fps

5. 14.0 gr: 1.) 2585 fps 2.) 2596 fps

6. 14.5 gr: 1.) 2649 fps 2.) 2672 fps

7. 15.0 gr 1. 2748 fps 2.) 2743 fps

These load were safe in MY rifle. YMMV, so work up... and if you use this data its at your own risk...I have no control over others loading techniques. These were shot in an 80 degrees environment.
