Just FYI: I've been curious about how "hot" the Win 41 primers are compared to the WSR, so I did a quick test this afternoon. Is the Win 41 a true magnum primer or just a hotter than normal WSR with a thicker cup. I picked them up pretty cheap, (comparatively for these days). The Win 41s did have some negative reviews when they first came out. All fired without a misfire for this quick test.

40 V-max
Case Remington
H335 27.4 grains
COAL 2.210
WSR and Win 41 primers
Rifle #1 is a 24" Rem 700 Classic in 223. This rifle has been VERY accurate since I bought it brand new
Rifle #2 is a 22" Tikka T3 in 223. This rifle is pretty much 1 moa with most loads.

5 shot group with the Rem and WSR averaged 3619 fps with an ES of 43 fps
2 shot group with the Tikka and WSR averaged 3548 fps with an ES of 21. (got 3 errors on the chronograph, so small sample).

5 shot group with the Rem and the Win 41 averaged 3599 with an ES of 90.
5 shot group with the Tikka T3 and the Win 41 averaged 3538 with an ES of 142.

So my conclusion on the brief test is that the Win 41 and the WSR are very similar in strength and maybe the only difference is primer cup thickness?
The WSR proved to be more accurate, especially in the Rem 700. This could be my shooting or the wind which gusted intermittently. 5 shot group measured .8 inches. ES was definitely higher with the Win 41.

I found the same results between the CCI 41 and CCI 400, accuracy was very close to the same
