Just picked up a CZ 527 in .22 Hornet and need to start looking for a scope for it. I've read issues with the bolt handle and the placement of the scope do the the short action and ring placment.

Been a Leupold person in the past, but am open to suggestion. Just want to set it up so it's as appealing and usable as possible.

Have even been considering a M8 in 6x? Any suggestions and/or pics would be appreciated.

Thank you..
I have an older Leupold 3x9 compact on mine using the rings that came with the rifle. Rings appear to be about medium height. No problems with clearance, or eye relief. To my eye the small scope looks right on it. Would think a Leupold 2x7 would work also.
cal74, Just picked one up myself, man it's a beauty with tiger stripes. I was thinking of a Meuller APV. I hear noting but good about them. What load are you thinking about? I am all new to CZ and to hornet. Let us know. Dave
Dave, my wood isn't anything special. Nice, put plain walnut.

And I'm going to be fairly new to the whole reloading game, so I'm not sure about that. It looks like 9 outta 10 people go with Lil Gun, so I guess that will be my starting point.

I picked my up new in box for 460.00. I was going to offer 490.00 but the guy said 460.00 so that sounded better smile
I have the same rifle and am using the 4.5x14 Nikon Buckmaster on it. Use mine for ground squirrels in Montana and the extra power on the scope is nice on those little buggers. Don't forget to try the small pistol primers in your Hornet. Small rifle primers in the Hornet are usually too violent in that small case.
panhandle, do you have pics of yours scoped up?

Thanks for the suggestion on the pistol primers. I haven't paid much attention to what people were using for primers. Keep reading lil gun all over for powder though.
No, I don't have picture with Nikon on it. I'm not really too computer savvy and really stuggle with the picture thing. I had mine rechambered to the k-hornet version to pull a little more velocity of it. I also use LilGun powder with the Hornady 35 grain V-Max.
I think a Weaver V-16 is just about right for the little 527 action, and it's sized right to fit factory rings/bolt issues, too.
Well right now it's paired with a Leupold VXII 3x9 I just picked up. Might go with something else when the funds allow it, but this will work for now I guess.

Disappointed they ship matte rings with a blued rifle and my scope is glossy which I prefer on a blued gun.

Thanks for the suggestions though, keep reading alot of good things about those Weaver V-16's. Might have to check one out one of these days.
Here is my 527 in 19 Badger with 4.5-14 Leupold. I would say either the Leupold or Zeiss Conquest 4.5-14 (I own both) and you will be very happy.
