This has likely been covered before, but seaching +ramshot +223AI didn't turn up much. Anybody having any luck with the combo? My local store got it their shipment of RL15 and marked it at $34.99/lb. They can stuff it. TAC was on for $22.99/lb and I've got to give it a whirl at that price. It should run 50's through 75's?

Two of my buddys are using Ramshot X-terminator with 40 Nosler BT's they are both getting just a hair under 4K MV (3985fps)with supper accuracy. Boy do they mess up a Rock Chuck.

Or you can just mail order 8 lbs of TAC from Natchez & be done with it. I use it in the 223 & 204.

I have run it with both combos you listed. Guessing you want data?

Will be a bit for me to get back to the bench and notebook.

Very good powder for this application. I have switched to RL-15 for the 75 Amaxs because it's faster. But TAC is not too far off.

Couldn't find TAC after SW closed it's doors, so I swapped the other way.

Will get back to you

TAC works extremely well in both the standard .223 and .223 AI. In fact I just learned that one of the major bullet companies has switched to TAC as their standard powder for testing bullet accuracy in the .223. In general you can add one grain to standard .223 data when loading the AI.

It sounds like TAC is a good product for this application. I'll be loading work-up batches soon with data I printed from Ramshot's website. Thanks to all....

IMHO and FWIW, Ramshot's guide is very modest in their listed charges...

I find that H335 definitely works better with 50 grainers, but anything heavier and I give the nod to TAC. With the 75 A-Max TAC is the way to go.

That's what I did. Natchez had the powder, and I bought the 8# jug.
I loaded up a lot of different TAC loads for the std 223, and the 223AI, but haven't shot any yet. (Been a very long Winter...:))) It seems like every load using different powder for both chamberings shoot far better than I could hope for, so there's no problem finding a bullet weight/powder combo that flat shoots. I don't run into that problem often. The price is right for the 8# jug of TAC too, at least from Natchez.
TAC flows like a dream thru the measure too.

Bump for a relatively old thread. I am running TAC in my 223ai behind 75gr amaxes, cci 400's, winchester and BHA hulls (same/same, I'm told), with a COAL of 2.485". I've worked up to 26.4 grains with no pressure (700 action, bushed FP hole, Rock 8 Twist). No chronied numbers yet, but Quickload is showing that I should be hovering right around 3000 fps. I can like those numbers.
