I have a 20 VarTarg that I built about five years ago and have only shot two different loads through it. I started out loading N120 and when that powder became difficult to find I switched to AA1680. Both of these powders give me groups of or less.

I have come across a great deal on another Kimber Varmint in 204 Ruger (I already have one that shoots bug-hole groups) and will be rechambering this rifle to 20 VarTarg. However, I would like to try other powers. I can find some load data on this cartridge, but I dont come across many people that actually load for it. Do any of you load for it and what are your results?

I've got a couple of Cooper 20 VarTargs.
One likes 30 gr Bergers w/ 18.0 grs H4198 and the other likes 32 gr V-Maxes w/ the same powder (18.0 grs H4198).
Very accruate. Hope this helps.

A bazillion (okay, maybe a few less than a bazillion) 20 Vartarg shooters hang out at http://www.saubier.com/forum.html

And 20Vartarg data is also found here http://www.6mmbr.com/20Caliber.html

I almost built a 20 Vartarg (since I shoot the 221 and the 17MIV, it seemed needed), but opted for a 20-222 using a setback 204R barrel.

I have an excellent load in my 20VT with the 35gn Berger over 19.2gn H4198 velocity-accuracy-killing power from rabbite to goats.
I have a reduced velocity load I use for rabbits under 200 yds of the 34gn Nosler "shots" bullet over 9gn Blue Dot for 2750fps, This is what I mostly shoot now on walking rabbit trips. Was out last few days and got 27 rabbits at ranges of 25-150yds.

Accurate has 2200 in production now, and Gibrass.com has some WC680 surplus.

I would definitedly give them a shot. They were marvy in my 223 with 40's.
