Thanks, I was having a hard time finding some locally, but found some at a gunshop today. It sucks to run out right in the middle of a loading session. My 22-250 loves the stuff...

Local store here has it on sale I bought couple lbs of it. What I use to load for my M1 garand. 46.4gr H4895, Hornady 168gr bthp, wlr primer. Supposedly it’s a clone to the national match load. I think the original NM load used IMR 4895.. I want to try 175gr Sierra matchkings but they are proud of them..

You better go back and buy more of that powder J. They are damn near sold out of most powders here. I had to go to a store that I never buy powder at because its just too damn expensive there. Had to give in today buddy. They still have 10 pounds of it, so I may go back and buy more, just how it is when no one else has it.. One reason I'm glad the op started this thread too. I'll check into powder valley for sure..

BSA, those Stevens 22.250s must be accurate.. I bought one that was used from a buddy...

I load it with 15 to 19 grains of Blue Dot,and at a 100 yds, pretty much gives me the same type of groups...

darn good rifles...

Cool, I'll have to try that. What kind of bullet do you use with that powder? Thanks..

Lawrence...

mainly 40 grain V Max... I'm sitting on a pile of them, I got what I consider Cheap...10 cents a bullet...

most of the time I've had it, has just been for plinking down out the range..

its been out a couple of times shooting sage rats with those loads...it did real well...

wonder If I could do any better if it had a decent trigger on it...

Me too. I just broke into my last keg so I ordered 2 more. I've got at least 5 different rifles that really like H4895 and from looking at the Hornady load website it looks like you could use it in almost any caliber.

I'm NOT a fan of this powder... for a variety of reasons..

I'm a strong IMR 4895 user instead...I think Hodgdon's is inconsistent vs IMR's version

however I also am a guy who will give credit where credit is due...

I've got a Ruger VT in 22.250...in that rifle with a 55 grain bullet.. NOTHING will touch it for a charge of 32.5 grains of H4895
for accuracy....NOTHING...

What do these two have in common?
