i have 1000 old *57's sitting here begging me to be used. i know about them being smaller and how people cut straw shims for the pockets,. but...i was curious if there are any new production hulls out there that have smaller primer pockets that will accommodate these old primers. the closest ive found are old school aa 410's. issue is the 57's dont have a flash hole cover and they publish that ball powder should not be loaded with these primers. so...using 296 and 2400 is out. and so is the idea of using 57's for 410. just thought id tap into some ideas for using this stuff up. lmk.

I have some 57* primers and some old 12 ga. Canadian CIL paper hulls to put them in. I did not know about the cautions regarding ball powders, thanks for that. I will load mine with a light charge of Unique, and an ounce of lead shot and some card and fibre wads. Sorry i'm no help and don't know of any modern hulls for you to try.

Mostly good for 1 st generation Remington plastic hulls the see thru transparent green ones . The ones with the composite base wads. So were talking mid 60's to early 70's in their hunting loads hulls.
IIRC the old All American RP target hulls with the high base wad used 209 sized primers. Mb
