bought some federal 1 3/4" mini shells 1200fps in #4 buckshot 15 pellets to try, I was surprised how they patterned compared to the 2 3/4" #4 buckshot, 1325fps 27 pellets. range work show the at 20 yards all 15 pellets on a 8x10 sheet of paper constantly for 3 shots as the 2 3/4" 27 pellets would score 14, 14 and 12 hits. The 2 3/4" was a filling removing round while the 1 3/4 was very pleasant to shot and follow up shot was easy. anyone else using these, make a 8 shot gun into a 13 shot gun

Not yet, but Wednesday I picked up my Mossberg 590s, which takes ‘em all interchangeably, or so they claim. I’m more interested in the bird shot loads for clays. Already replaced the safety and got a couple of extra choke tubes. Rail on the way. Doubt I can hit many clays with the ghost ring, but have killed some before using a red dot.

Haven’t seen any of the new Federal Mini Shells on the shelf to try yet.

But the AGUILA Mini Shells feed well in all of my Remington 870 Pump guns.

They did not feed well in the Mossberg pump I had, though.

They had Federal buckshot at the store where I bought the Mossberg, but priced way out of line. I may throw some on my next online order just for the heck of it. All those shorties are expensive compared to regular 2 3/4” shells, due to limited production I suppose. I did see some target loads today for $.50 each in a box of 100. That’s the best I found so far.

There is a company in Texas that is making a really good minishell adapter for the mossberg 500 and in my opinion is a better alternative to the 590S. Cost is great too if anyone is shooting the mini's.

$25 shipped. They have several other neat stuff for the mossberg and remington guns too.

Watched the video for that. Seems to work well, and a good idea for someone who already has a gun or wants to get in as cheaply as possible. I bought the 590s mostly for the drilled and tapped receiver and the ability to swap chokes, and maybe the ghost ring sights, which will get a try at some point. Might just have to get a bayonet too😛

As long as the mini shells remain so expensive, I’ll probably give them a pass, unless I decide I need to cut down on the weight I’m carrying. Most situations can be sorted out with 8 shells I think.

nice thing about the mini shell is the lack of recoil, I can let 13 rounds fly in less than 10 seconds and shred the target with #4 buckshot

yes the mossbergs need the little rubber adapter very simple to install and quite reasonably cheap and maybe more than one option anymore.
