Is there still a demand for the old style AA hulls? What is the going rate for once fired?

$.05 each for 12s and 20s more like $.09 for 28s.

The old style compression hulls could be considered the best hull for reloading ever made. I reloaded them for years, the new style AA is not in the same league. TeamPD is correct, about $0.05 for 12 ga. I have 3 or 4 thousand of the new style once fired and asking $0.035 locally.

The old style AA were my favorite. When I got out of reloading 4-5 years ago I gave away 3-4 thousand once fired to readers on this forum.

Like others have posted, the old style AA cases are my favorite. I can get probably twice as many reloads out of the old style hulls as I can get out of the new HS hulls.

From my registered Skeet shooting days where several of my friends who didn't reload and would only shoot new AA shells that they gave to me, I put all of those hulls in plastic wad bags, and I still have a pile of those bags (in all 4 gauges) that is 10' in diameter and goes from the floor to the ceiling in the crawlspace under my house.

even though early aa cf hulls are the best...overall, reloading is way down due to the price of factory loads being so cheap. reloading components cost more than factory rounds. so, the market for old aa's is for those who still like loading pet loads. in other words, the market is much narrower now, so selling them may not be so easy.

If anyone interested I have approx 4000 early AA 12g hulls, clean once fired kept in a heated basement. Total weight about 41 pounds if interested make an offer [email protected]

Weren't the Blue Magic hulls almost identical to the AA hulls?

yes. loads will interchange with just a slight depth adjustment.

I loved those old AA's and the Blue Magic. Used the same data for both. If AA's were the best them Blue Magic was right on their tail!

Back in the day my wife, my BIL and I were all shooting trap. Going through a lot of ammo. Had a PW progressive reloader and I was thinking we loaded both AA and blue magic with little or no adjustments and the same loads.

I use to shoot nothing but AA compression hulls for all my Trap & Skeet reloads but to say they were the best hull ever made would be incorrect.
When Remington came out with the STS & Nitro hull just different colors. Remington has the winner in 12ga & 20ga STS hulls
In 28ga Winchester HS is the best sold today.
I had a few hundred AA compression hulls once fired and gave them to a friend as I got tired adjusting the reloader from AA to STS hulls, life is much simpler with just one style per gauge.
For Me Remington in 12 and 20 and Winchester 28ga.

The old Win CF hulls were good and plentiful. Something changed at the end of their run. They seemed to have different lengths and volume. The new Win hulls are reloadable but certainly not my first choice. I like the Rem Gun Clubs for bulk and Rem Premier/Nitro for events. They load the same, just a psychological thing for me probably. For long games my favorite is the one piece Federals although I’ll load the paper wad ones once.

More demand for the old Win AA with brass base as can load 8-12 X depending on powder burn rate compared to the cheap steel bases guys are forced to reload today.
