Have not found what I’m looking for. I’m looking for a Ithaca Model 37 in 16 gauge a Winchester Model 12 in 16 gauge- only interested in corn cob style forearms. The older the model 12s the smaller and rounder they are that’s what I want. Also would consider a Remington Model 11-48 in 16 gauge. I prefer full choke. Thanks

Any interest in a M12-16ga with Briley thin-wall choke tubes (IC, Mod, Full)? If so, feel free to contact me.

Have you considered a Remington model 31? I think it compares favorably to the Ithaca and Winchester.

The first few years of the 870 Wingmaster had corncob forearms. I have one in 16 ga. and I would not pass one of them up if it came available.

870s are nice but I prefer a Ithaca Model 37 or Winchester Model 12. To me there the best pump guns ever made. Just my opinion though

Yep. I’ve got a pristine 1950’s Model with the corncob fore end that a good friend gave me. It is sweet!
That being said, the Ithaca 37’s are even sweeter because they are lighter and slicker.

I just bought a Remington 31 in 16 gauge and in my opinion (not that it amounts to two hoots) is every bit a M12 or 37 and maybe even a bit better from a size standpoint (smaller frame) and smoothness of action (actually didn’t believe an action could operate this smoothly).

In any case you’ll have a fine shotgun no matter what you find!!

The 31s and 870s are nice guns!

I have a 31 also and I agree its as smooth as the 37 and better than a mdl12, At least the 12s I have.

I have a 31-TC (Trap Gun) that I love, but the 'lifter' won't get the shell high enough to fit into the chamber. Just recently started doing that, and it still shoots fine by just dropping the shell into the chamber -- can't shoot doubles with it however. Ever heard of a 'fix' for this problem? Thanks!

Model12 do a search on “lifter issues with Remington Model 31” and some ideas are presented that may help you? I would have given the link but I’m not that advanced😄! Sounds like it might be a worn carrier?

Good luck!,

Absolutely. I have a 1936 Rem 31 in 16ga. I wouldn't trade it for a Model 12.
I also have a 1950 870 in 16ga and it's a fine gun.

Thanks PennDog! I'll give it a try.
