Beautiful Springfield! Any idea what kind of rings those are? GLWS
The scope on the Springfield is a straight 10x Mark 4. The rings are 30mm Leupold Mark 4 rings.
Information on the Springfield Custom and the 700 C Grade
This is an exceptionally well executed Springfield Custom built by Paul Jaeger of Jenkintown,Pa in 1970. The rifle was based on a post 800,000 Springfield action. 24" barrel. Glass and pillar bedded. Awesome wood to metal fit and checkering. Real Ebony grip cap and fore end tip. The rifle weighs 7.5 pounds bare. Its a real shooter being exceptionally accurate. It's in overall fine condition. Would love to see it get some use and be cherished by someone else instead of being safe bound.

The C Grade 700 is priced ($1250 Shipped ) at about a third of the replacement cost today. Beautiful rifle and very accurate.
Is the Springfield marked Jaeger? Nice rifle.
kenster99 I bought this about 5 years ago from Ray (yar). It was one in his Dad`s collection. He advised that was not sure of the make of barrel used but that it was proofed with Jaegar`s mark.
I miss that one . I grew up 10 miles from Jeagers Place of business. That particular one if I remember was given to my Dad while he was at Lasalle College. I have 3 others in my possession still. 270 Win , 7mm Rem and a 7x 57. They pop up around my area now and then but they go quickly.
Thanks for that info Ray. Iv`e enjoyed it but recent shoulder issue has me shooting my 257 Bobs and leaving the magnums in the safe. Have gotten nothing but compliments on your Dad`s rifle since I bought it. Very well made and fit of the stock is perfect. The Jaegar trigger breaks like glass.
Wow, that Jaeger is a beauty and has a good price.
