Decided to let go of my Newton rifle. Built by Charles Newton, "The Father of High Velocity". DOM of 1916 this one is chambered in 30 U.S.G. (30-06) of which makes up only 13% of Newtons built. This an exceptionally nice example and built in Buffalo NY. Has a Lyman 48 long slide rear sight and a Lyman front blade. Integral scope bases. Double set triggers. Bore is perfect and the action is tight. Metal finish is exceptional but has seen usage. Stock is similar with no damage other than a little bruising on the left side by the grip. Checkering is very nice as well. Swivels in the photos are gone replaced by the correct hook and eye swivel bases. A truly rare and beautiful rifle. $1700 plus shipping to a C&R or FFL. Will consider reasonable offers.

Serial number?

Do the serial numbers on the bolt and action match?

What serial number?

Do the serial numbers on the bolt, found at the root of the bolt handle, match the serial number of the action, found on the bottom of the action?

Your Newton is nicer than mine in 30 USG, but I would need to know the answers to the questions that I've asked, twice now, before I'll know what my level of interest is.

Sorry, I overlooked your question. The bolt does indeed match the receiver. Sn. is visible in photos.

Could you explain these: "Integral scope bases" ?

Photo would help. Thanks.

Wow. Just wow.
Those Newton rifles are rare (the most over-used word in gun terminology today).
