I forgot to add that I have the original owner manual for the scope as well and it will be included.
Bump for a North woods classic!
Bump for a North woods classic!
And one with far better wood than most too.
DOM is August of 1972 is what I was told based on the barrel code.
I cut my teeth hunting with a rifle exactly like this, only it was a carbine.....happier times.
If it was a carbine, I'd buy it just because.
Bump.
There sure are lots of them in this area but most look like they have been drug behind the truck.
Have you shot it much. Any jams?
Great rifles for the first hundred rounds fired!

Most of these get carried for 2 weeks for deer season and shot very little. The serious shooters didn't buy a 742.
Thats why they sent a chamber brush on a bent twisty wire..,.keep chamber clean and wont rip off rim of shell then you have to get shell out and roto roter rust pits out of chamber ,.,or rebarrel have done about 10 or 12 of these,.,.If got to rigth away a dinglberry brush in the chamber would smooth out enough to make it a semi auto agin more than a couple a thou and you rebarrel

Admit it, you made that up didn't you? A "dingleberry brush" sounds like something that hangs on the outhouse wall at deer camp.
Serious shooters figure out why a rifle dont shoot good..742,s group terrible.,.,. first 2 or 3 shots are ok then it startes to wander with me usualy to the right and high by the 6th seen em 4" high at 100 yrd.,. If you back off the forarm screw and leave it just so the forearm moves a little bit it will realy redoce group sizes
Walk into almost any auto parts store and ask for a dingleberry brush to hone your wheel cyl out

????
Sorry, I just saw this. No, I have not shot this. The guy I got it from said it didn't jam and the rails look good so I have no reason to believe it does. The guy wasn't a shooter. I would sell the bare rifle for $600 plus shipping.
BA Deeb a deeb.....thats all folks. I will withdraw this and reoffer it closer to fall.
