My favorite shotgun in my older age has been a single shot H&R 1905 model .28 gauge. Weighing around 4lbs loaded (had to add that part😄) it’s a pleasure to carry when the setter and I take a walk for birds (she’s 10 now so we go about that same speed). It’s choke light modified and I shoot it well. If I run across one I’ll be sure to point you in that direction - they seem to be climbing in value though there is an Iver Johnson on Gunbroker right now that’s at $450 and ends tonight.

Does yours have an English Straight stock or pistol grip?

Straight stock. Also have 20 ga same configuration but 5 or so rounds through it. I fell while out hunting and jammed my A5 into the dirt. Had to finish with Parker. Have a CMSC 28 ga 2 bbl set,30"bbls. It is one of the quickest handling guns I have. Not a good bird shot with it though.

I just got a Pointer 28ga Semi Auto. Great feeling shotgun for the price.
