They are going for that or more over on Gunbroker so what's the problem? I wouldn't pay those prices but people are.

Yeah, well some folks voted for kamalajoe too! Stupid is as stupid does.
Posted By: G8ters Re: PRIMER RIPOFF - 01/28/21
Thank you for the heads up. There are people that are desperate during these times, and it’s a good PSA.

TattleTale !!!
Posted By: Kenlguy Re: PRIMER RIPOFF - 01/28/21
Truth be told, if I wasn't so well stocked up, I would have no problem paying that price. If that is what it takes to keep my one and only hobby/habit alive, Then that is what must be done.
Posted By: stevevan1 Re: PRIMER RIPOFF - 01/28/21
Hey, I don't plan to pay those crazy prices but we do live in a free market so no complaining,
Posted By: retrieverman Re: PRIMER RIPOFF - 01/28/21
These threads are getting really old. There’s a simple solution. IF YOU DON’T LIKE THE PRICE, DON’T BUY THE ITEM!!!!!

Your exactly right there, I know a guy sitting on over 200k primers. He got them from a shop he bought out and is waiting to dump em.
Posted By: tpeavy Re: PRIMER RIPOFF - 01/28/21
i wonder if we can start claiming how much ammo, powder, primers we have as part of net worth. i might have become a millionaire overnight

I have been offering items on GB at $.01 starting price and let the market say what each item is worth. It's been fun seeing what sells and what does not.

ya!

You're plumb brilliant......

$200 is chump change to many many people. Not everyone is in the same tax bracket.
Posted By: gemby58 Re: PRIMER RIPOFF - 01/28/21
Ill sell some of mine off at $200 a brick, heck yeah

Many of those same folks will squeeze a nickel util the buffalo chits. You know how copper wire was invented? 2 rich cats fighting over a cent.
Posted By: antelopedundee Re: PRIMER RIPOFF - 01/28/21
Using a fitty cent primer to launch a thutty cent boolit is insane.

If you don’t like the price, don’t buy it. Why is this so tough for some people?
Posted By: 451whitworth Re: PRIMER RIPOFF - 01/28/21
On GunBroker yesterday a case (5K) of Winchester small pistol primers went for $1775. Plus shipping and sales tax!
Posted By: RMiller2 Re: PRIMER RIPOFF - 01/28/21
All it takes is patience.
I find primers in town every couple weeks.
I have had two notifications today for primers. None over 50 per thousand.
If you want to pay 200 per thousand or more that is your choice but no where near the only option.
What to do with gamestop stock, that is the real question.
Posted By: VarmintGuy Re: PRIMER RIPOFF - 01/28/21
RMiller2: May I inquire which town in Montana?
I live in Montana and have not seen primers on a shelf in a very long time.
I am well fixed for primers myself but I have friends who need various sizes of Rifle primers.
TIA
Hold into the wind

As have I. GB allows me to get a good price without the angst of feeling like I'm either gouging someone or giving something away too cheaply.
Recently got $105 for a PSA stripped lower, for example.

You can’t really blame the guys selling them, you can list them at .01/1,000......that’s right a penny a thousand and I guarantee you they’ll go to over $200 before the auction is over.

Crazier then that, there are two current auctions for a total of 200 primers that are already at $100 and $105. A little quick math says that comes out to $500 per 1000 and $525 per 1000, plus shipping. shocked

Exactly. The fact is, when there are shortages of something, there will always be people looking for a bargain, when there are none to be had.

I have to adjust my earlier comment.

Patience and fast reaction time, lol.

I just got a notifications for some CCI 500 in stock at 40 dollars a thousand.

In the two minutes it took me to register they were sold out.

The primers I have are not for sale at any price........

The stupid bastards that don't have any are mad as hell.
Posted By: BluMtn Re: PRIMER RIPOFF - 01/28/21
My cousin was in sportsman yesterday and called me and ask if I needed any primers. I told him yes and how many can you get, he replied I can buy 1000. I ask what they were and he replied they were Federal Gold Metal Match. Large Rifle. I ask how much and he $3.50/100. I screamed buy. So now I have another 1000 primers, the only thing is I only use magnum primers and these are standard primers, but I can live with that.
Posted By: 10ring1 Re: PRIMER RIPOFF - 01/29/21
Seen em higher than that recently
Posted By: Terryk Re: PRIMER RIPOFF - 01/29/21
What is a reasonable price to sell or buy now per 1000?
By the way I just gave my buddy's Dad 500 SPP for free.

I’ve seen SR primers priced at $60 per HUNDRED, and they are selling. It’s nuts.

That's nuttier than nuts. I have 850 CCI small pistol mag primers looking to trade for a pound of IMR7977.

Antelopedundee, I can siphon off a pound of 7977. PM me
