WTT: 1958 Winchester 88 in 308 - 04/04/21
Nice clean Winchester 88 in 308 22” barrel with original sights, sight hood, butt plate etc. it likely has a thin coat of varnish added decades ago. The stock was not sanded. It has a Weaver scope base. This one was made in 1958 and has the hand cut checkering. It has a better trigger than any 88 I have owned or handled over the years. Bore is bright and sharp. It wears the same leather sling it came with in 58. I bought it from the original owner, a man in his 80s that does not hunt any more. It is a neat rifle, but just not my cup of tea.
Looking to trade for a clean Savage 99f in 300 Sav or possibly an EG in 300. I want one that is drilled and tapped for scope mounts. I would also be interested in 7mm-08 bolt guns, but no Savage Axis, Ruger American etc. I might also be tempted by the right Marlin levergun. Let me know what you have.
