Anyone have any big game they could spare and ship?

Looking for a couple pounds.

FYI

I am in NW PA and could also trade primers or powder in a ftf deal if I had to travel a bit.

Thanks

Be careful, it is against the law to barter or trade wild game meat or products. It is totally ok for someone to give you some and if you want to give something else back out of kindness, that's fine, but bartering for is a no no.
"I'll give you 10 lbs of meat for $50" could get you ticketed and who knows what else. (that statement is not an offer to trade or barter meat).

Good luck in finding nice people to share their goods.

Keep an eye open....ramshot powders are available almost weekly.

Big Game is a tough one to come by and when it's available it sells out really fast.

Ramshot Big Game.

Consider the dead-horse re-beaten.

Good luck finding your powder, seems Ramshot shows up sporadically everywhere, I hope you get what you need.

Thanks guys been looking. Haven't found big game yet. Local shop has a couple other flavors, they sold out of the BG as soon as it showed up..

It’s worth whatever you have to do to find it.

So I've read! One of my boys and my nephew have a 7-08. I just bought one for myself. Would like to try it.

Keep an eye on midsouth shooters supply. I’ve picked up an 8lb-er about a month ago and they have had it in stock one other time since then. I use a lot of it and kick myself for not grabbing a 2nd 8lb-er.

I bought an 8lber from Powder Valley about 3 weeks ago. Ended up getting that and pound of 760 for less than I could have on a shelf here locally.

Which bullet?

I’ve used BG for 120 TTSX, 120 BT, 140 AB, 140 PT, and 150 ELD-X.

Magnum primers.

Dead elk with the last three. Dead deer with the last four.

I have 120gr Sierra PH, 140gr Sierra GK, 120gr NBT, 140gr NBT and 140gr NPT.

Aidans 7-08 shoots the 120Ph well, Konnors gun shoots the 120NBT. Both are running 4350 at this time. I cannot remember the exact charges. Whitetail loads.

I'm planning to run the 140NBT or the 140PT in my M70

If I cannot locate the BG I will probably go with the 4350 as well.

Big Game is a awesome powder. My 7-08 loves with it and 150 gr NBT's. Glad Ive got several pounds laid back. It's HARD to find right now and expensive if you must buy from "brokers"

H4350 is the best powder for your 140s, if your 4350 is H and not IMR stay with it.

Here in Az may be different but our temperature swings can be extreme, add in driving an hour can take you from desert floor to high elevation and temp differences.

I tested BG with the 120s, both NBT and TXS, NBT shot MOA at 200 off the tailgate and bags in the desert, 3160ish from a Tikka. At the same time I tried H4895 max load, 3080, 1 inch at 200.

The big difference was the SD was 3 for H4895 and 22 for BG, also my buddy standing to the side commented that the BG was really harsh sounding compared, I could feel some difference in recoil.

This is what my wife uses and my loaner for other family, last year my brother shot a cow elk 1 weekend and the next week my wife shot her muley buck. It may be 100 degrees in the desert deer hunt or 4 degrees on an elk hunt. The 120NBT kills both easily including shoulder shots, this is multiple years and animals experience.

The SD, slight accuracy advantage, milder load, and temp insensitivity was worth the 80fps. BG at least here in AZ with the temps was a bit jumpy.

I traded the BG and TSXs a few months ago for some primers so it was a win/win.

H4895 is impossible to find also, just don't get locked on BG over the extreme powders... H4350 is the best overall powder for the 140s.

Thanks for the input Kent. Here in the North East. We don't see the extreme heat Temps. Most hunting is don't between 20 and 50 degrees. I do have h4895 as well as an apple supply of the h4350. Just looking to try the big game due to the reviews on it.

That's the same thing I did, BG gave the velocities published, H4350 will give better velocities with the 140s and it's just the best overall powder for many reasons for many calibers, so that leaves the 120s. Same road I went down.
