Im in the market for a Winchester Model 42 410ga shotgun. I’ll listen to any condition or variation. Especially interested in early production, high condition, and deluxe examples but I’m open to any condition or variation.

I have high quality guns for trade if that motivates someone more than cash... but buying outright is preferred.

Please PM me with anything you have!

Thanks!
I own one. It was my grandfather’s. My grandmother bought it for him when he returned from the war. It is my favorite gun I own. I have killed a ton of squirrels with that thing. They are are great guns. Good luck on your quest. You won’t be disappointed.
They're out there....$1,400-$1,800 for a plain Jane, $2,800-$3,600 for a Skeet or Deluxe grade.

I just gave mine to my son. It was his grandfather's. He could hit birds with that 410 that I couldn't touch with a 12 gauge. He could shoot.
You'll love it when you find one.
Thanks guys. I owned one years ago but it was in very poor and altered condition so I traded it off. It did shoot very well and I liked the daintiness and balance.

I’m up in the internet asking price and auction market values and may go that route if need be. I figured I’d start here in hopes that a member out there has one they’d sell or trade and we could both cut out the middle man (listing and selling fees).

Please PM me if you have something.

Thanks
I have a dandy 42. Sorry, not for sale!
My Dad was at work in the mid 60s. A coworker asked him if he wanted to buy a 410 pump Winchester? His brother in law wants 40 bucks for it.
My Dad said, if it's a Winchester pump and in 410, he'd buy it sight unseen.
The guy says, it's in my trunk. My Dad paid him and they walked out to get the gun, wrapped in an old blanket was a mint deluxe Model 42 410 Skeet with a solid rib and English stock!
My Dad said, he was going to give the guy more money for it but other coworkers kept coming to my Dad all day telling him how bad he got screwed since the brother in law only wanted $25.00 for it!
After 10-12 people told him how stupid he was my Dad wrote down the number to the local gunshop and told them to call and ask, how much a 42 Skeet is? If they could get one!
I love the memory of the story as much as the gun......
Good luck with your search!

I know a few guns that were got that way. I’ve landed a couple myself just like that. But these days, I’m subjected to paying the piper - haha.
I have a Browning 42 NIB, not the Win your looking for but trading is the only way it will leave here. I shoot a Citori so it was never shot.
A few offers and a couple potential deals so far, please keep em coming!
Go to shotgunworld. Larry Sidner has a fantastic collection. He was looking to sell

Thanks
Sent you a PM with an auction link.
Here's a link for a gun auction that has a Model 42, see lot # 204. They take online bids too. Good luck.

Thank you both!
Sir, I attended the Wanamaker show in Tulsa, OK @ a month ago. They have another in November I believe. Not sure of your location, but it is a unique event that everyone who is a firearm enthusiast should attend at least once in their lifetime. The model 42 in pristine you are seeking, I must have seen 30 along with another 30 that were shooters as well. They were scattered everywhere throughout the show and some collectors had up to 5 for sale. Yes prices were up there pretty good & I didn't see many get bought.

always some for sale there but they are never cheap.
Still looking.
Thanks to all the suggestions so far.
I shop on and belong to most of the online auction sites and auction houses. I was hoping to get in touch with more members here with a 42 they are looking to part with for cash or trade. Feel free to pm with what you or your friends may have!

Thanks in advance.
One of the 45 currently up on Proxibid.com

I couldn’t agree more... if only people in my life that expect to be paid felt the same, ha!
