I have a 1903 Springfield project rifle for sale. It has not been drilled and is S# 755xxx so I believe this is a "single heat treated" receiver or at least that is what Google told me. It is missing the action screws, magazine spring, barrel band and sights. I tried to take as many pictures as I could. I am not sure what to price this at so I will try $350 shipped to the L48 from a private party to your FFL. If you want it, the first post here "I will take this" followed up by a PM will own it.

Is the bolt handle bent straight down, perpendicular to the axis of the bolt body. Or is the bolt swept back (or slightly rearward curved)?
Also, is there a data stamped on the barrel? If so, what is the date?

Thanks

Yes, the bolt is straight down NOT bent back. The barrel says "SA with a flaming bomb under it and then 1-42".

Hopefully I described them correctly.

It's a mish mosh of parts. Probably a WW II "guard rifle" built from low # receivers and whatever parts they could find.

It is a "swept bolt", not original to the action.

If it has a perfect bore, the barrel is a good item.
03A3 guard good for restoration.
many useful small parts.

Straight bolt 03'

Is the stock still in original configurations. Sorry hard to tell on my computer since this site fills my D^*& screen full of pop ads.

I put several pictures of the stock in the ad so you see exactly what you are getting.

The forearm is cut back to the second band, and rounded.

Looks like the buttplate is missing as well.

I get the same problem on the phone screen.

I have a old 1903A3 sporter stock collecting dust. Not to hi jack but does anyone know if a 1903 action will drop in a 1930A3 stock?
Thanks

Is the bore a sewer pipe?

If I tell you Yes and it isn't terrible then you would be pleasantly surprised.

$300 to your FFL.
Posted By: J257 Re: 1903 Springfield - 05/09/21
Well, if you say" yes" - I've lost interest. Bump for a fun project
Posted By: 160user Re: 1903 Springfield - 05/09/21
My guess is that the bore is likely rough. I ran a patch through it but not a brush.

How about $275 shipped to your FFL in the L48?
Posted By: Montuky_K Re: 1903 Springfield - 05/11/21
I would separate the barrel from the action and post on the CMP Forums. Many collectors on there.
