I have a buddy that had a trip planned to hunt dall sheep in a few years in Canada, but since their borders just re-opened, they called and said he could come this September. Problem is, he doesn’t have any of these projectiles or powder and he needs to get a load made up for his .270 Weatherby.

Can anyone help?

Pleas give me a call or text at 7zero6-27zero-1454. Thanks!
If I see the bullets today I will snag some.
Maybe somebody here is willing to help....?

Unfortunately, he’s picked two of the most difficult components to find out there right now.

Just another thought:

Tell your buddy to order today one or two of the following...Barnes 127gr LRX, 130gr Nosler Partition or 140gr Hornady Interlock on MidwayUSA(all “In Stock” presently) and get busy with the load workup!

I shoot Nosler Accubonds myself and they are great bullets. But just about any good bullet out there will work just fine for sheep in the 270. And who knows if the Accubond will even shoot well in his rifle(sometimes they don’t).

I’d trust the 130gr Nosler Partition in my 270 out to a heck of a long ways on just about anything up to and including elk. And 270s aren’t usually finicky...most will shoot just about anything accurately.

Same goes for the RL25...Don’t get hung up on one powder. You’re bound to get disappointed. His 270 will work well with a bunch of different powders. See what’s in stock that’ll work and get ready for the hunt.

If I had a sheep hunt come up unexpectedly, I wouldn’t be wasting time.

Good luck to your buddy, whatever he decides.

I have everything but 140 AB lol damn. I try 140 ballistic tips. Shooter pro shop has 130 ballistic tips.
Cabela’s had them a couple weeks ago but I just looked and they are no longer in stock there. They do have the 145 ELDX if he is interested in trying those.

There are some good last minute opportunities this year because of the situation with the border. It is awesome that your buddy can make it happen. I got a notification of a last minute opening for a stone hunt that I’ve wanted to do for a while but I can’t swing the dates on such short notice. Make sure to keep us posted down the road on how your friend’s hunt goes!
The 145 eld-x is a great bullet very easy to get to shoot as well.
I have a few boxes of 130 hornady sp bullets if those would help. They were loaded for years in factory bee ammo…. Probably still are. I’ve never shot a sheep with them but they are damn fine deer bullets.

Pm if you can’t find bullets.
