Marlin 39A takedown, serial number indicates 1955 year of manufacture ("M"). Rifle has definitely seen some use, but is otherwise decent shape. One of the forend screw has been poorly replaced, and it has some bluing wear. No elevator piece for the rear sight, front sight has some damage. Its is dinged up and well used, and is certainly not a collector's grade or safe queen!

Please look at ALL pics and email any questions you have.

$485 shipped (PayPal or USPS Postal MO ONLY)

Looks to be one made for Sears. Fits the time frame and has the barrel drilled and tapped which they did to all sears 39A they made.

Jim's right. I have the same ""M" prefix rifle that has the 4 drilled & tapped holes on the barrel. Somewhere I also have a copy of an old factory Marlin letter explaining why they did it. I beleive a common Weaver N2 mount bolts right up to these holes. A painless way to check to see if they're factory is to remove a few of the plug screws and check that the inside of the threaded holes are blued.

GLWS..
