The markings at the base of the blade are KA-BAR and on the opposite side USN MK2. The markings on the scabbard are USN MK2 and on the opposite side NORD-4723. The knife has original leather washer grip, some original bluing, and heavy steel pommel. The scabbard is also in good condition with complete web frog and functional snap. The U.S. Navy fighting knife, Mark 2 was developed during WWII and was made by four different manufacturers. This version was made by Ka-Bar. It is marked KA-BAR on the base of the blade; I believe those made in 1944 or later were marked on the guard.
