If someone takes this and can get FFL and payment before Friday I'll do $800 shipped and include a surprisingly clear Tasco 3-9 mounted and bore sighted.
Birch and not a walnut stock?
DESCRIPTION
The Marlin® 336W Lever-Action Rifle is ideal for hunting deer, hogs, or black bear at close to medium range, or for defending yourself against potential threats in the backcountry. The 336W has a blued steel barrel and receiver and a pistol-grip, hardwood stock. The 20" barrel has Micro-Groove rifling to deliver optimum accuracy with jacketed hunting bullets. The full-length magazine tube holds 6 rounds of .30-30 Win. cartridges, which are loaded through a loading port on the side of the receiver. The receiver utilizes side ejection, which simplifies scope mounting, and the gun comes drilled and tapped for attaching a scope mount. The Marlin 336W features a semi-buckhorn, folding rear sight and a brass bead front sight, protected by a Wide-scan hood. A receiver-mounted cross-bolt safety effectively blocks the hammer from hitting the firing pin. Sling swivel studs with loops allow for the attachment of a rifle sling for convenient hands-free carry in the field. The Marlin 336W is a traditional lever-action rifle that's quick handling, and delivers rapid fire with a proven big game hunting cartridge. Made in USA.

Birch and not a walnut stock?
Stocks on W's are Birch finished to look like walnut.
A JM Marlin with a walnut stock will always have a Bullseye mounted in the stock.
Hand cycled 160 hornady and 150 hornady factory loads and then 170 Sierra hand loads. Feed and function is flawless.
Yes, trade offers entertained
Any idea round count on it? Thx!
Looking at the muzzle and hammer, next to none…
Is that the same as these?

I'd venture to say same model number, Just missing the JM stamp (some prefer)...Main difference would be none of those you posted will be in stock, and probably haven't been for a bit.
Yeah probably rough to find new. Just curious if any change from a 08 model to brand new. Good info in stamp. Thx. Interested...will do some thinking.
Believe the 336W was marketed for Walmart.

No the W stands for wood.
Thats a JM stamped birch stocked model. The W doesn't stand for W because the 336C was also wood, but the nicer walnut model.

No the W stands for wood.
This model was sold exclusively by Walmart. Never implied that the designation “w” means Walmart. But the 336W and 336AW were marketed for Walmart/big chain stores.
The W would be for walnut finish of the birch stock.
Decent gun, reasonable price. Pictures show what it is..... Whatever W or Walmart means is sort of immaterial.
W means cheaper because of the "hardwood" (non-walnut) stock regardless of what the W really means to the manufacturer. It DOES NOT stand for Walmart as these types of Remlin 336's were sold at other chain stores too.
Nice rifle and fair price

So you can not sound stupid.... The fact is this is a JM stamped rifles, manufacturer before machinery was transitioned to Remington.
