FS Savage-imported Finnish-made Valmet 20 magnum O/U shotgun Model 330.

This is the plainer model of two Valmets that Savage imported and marked with their name in the late 1960s and early '70s. It is a plain-barrelled (no rib) 28" 20 guage 3" magnum field gun with plain extractors and a selective single trigger and tang safety. Gun is factory stock except that the chokes have been opened to Skeet 1 and Skeet 2 by Ahlman's Gunsmithing for upland hunting and using steel shot.

Pistol grip stock made of straight-grained dark, reddish brown European walnut with a slim (not "splinter") forend, no schnable, checkering is impressed, not hand cut. No cracks or dings. Wood finish and deep blue factory finish are near mint; bores are perfect. Savage-marked black butt plate on uncut stock.

I got this gun for upland hunting but age and land closures due to drought and fire hazard in our area are making that unlikely. I've owned a number of these Savage/Valmets and have had no mechanical problems with them even hunting in sub-zero weather in ID, VT, NY, and WI. They are a Finnish modification of the action used by Remington for their Models 32 and 3200, and also used in Kreighoff O/Us. It is a very strong action used in Valmet-marked double rifles for high-pressure ctgs. from .223 to .375. I'm keeping several of these that are uncommon or have sentimental value (none are pristine like this one....). I gave my son a 12 guage 330 for waterfowl hunting. It dumps 'em.

$550 OBO shipped to an FFL who accepts firearms from individuals. I accept personal checks with a day for them to clear the bank, and all MOs, but don't do PayPal or other electronic payment plans.

Please ask questions or make remarks by PM. If you need pics, please PM me your email address and I'll try to email you some.

Thanks for reading! Have a great 2022!

What is the LOP? How much does it weigh? Thanks

These are very nice shotguns, and with an exceptionally strong action. Similar to the Rem 3200, as they slide to lock on the top half of the action.

Always interested in seeing pictures, if you have some.
dkevinbarnes, the LOP of my 330 is 14" from the center of the trigger to the center of the factory buttplate. It weighs 7# 2 oz.

Offers? By PM or here--worst I'll say is "No thanks", or "Not yet"!

Only TRADE I'd be interested in is an excellent condition .410 barrel, only at least 18 1/2" long for a T-C Contender Carbine. I'd trade straight across for a really nice one, both traders paying shipping. Let me know what you've got!

I know where there’s a 14” new in the box.
Great shotgun. Shot International skeet alongside a father son duo from Canada back in 1980-81 who used the Valmet. The son was the fastest doubles shooter I ever shot with. That cost him a few targets though.. wonder if he ever made The Olympic team. Had the pleasure of shooting with the American, German and Canadian teams a few times. They all kicked my butt so don’t misunderstand. 😀
Thanks, Rackus, but this would be going onto a G2 Carbine action and stock....I hear that Uncle Sugar frowns on too-short .410s. Not worth the permanent vacation in Paraguay.

PRICE DROP!

How about $495 shipped? That's as low as I can go unless you live in Orange County CA and we can do a person-to-person transfer at a local FFL. Keep in mind that anyplace else, it's gonna cost me about $60 dollars to ship it to you.

Still interested in a T-C .410 CARBINE barrel.

Wow. That is a buy it for the son in law price!
Wish I had this rather the .410 O/U I have! These are light and neat guns.
PM sent
I'll take it Mike.

PM incoming.
