PM sent. I'll take it - depending on condition and pics.

Edit - disregard. Seller will NOT ship the rifle to anyone. Shame

Seconds. How did I miss this.
Posted By: kcc Re: Marlin 39 mountie - 01/26/22
Still available. I'm trying to avoid shipping.

As stated in the original post. I would like to transfer face to face in VA or NC.

If it doesn't sell and I decide to ship I will relist it later with a shipped price.

Thanks for the interest

How about if it doesn't sell locally - you give the first person that placed an I'll take it - me - first dibs on it with the shipping fees? Instead of relisting it all over again.

I would be interested in the Mountie BUT Redbone311 should get first dibs. IMHO

Thank you 61pass. But a great member on here (that I didn't even know) told me of another Marlin 39A in awesome shape at his local dealer, 1968 mfr date, and with a pistol grip which I much prefer anyway.
Gotta love the fire and the great guys on here. I won't mention his name as I didn't get permission to do so, but I've already thanked him, and I'm so impressed with that kind act.

Find an FFL that will ship and let the buyer pay all those fees.
Mounties are cool little rifles.

I apologize for ppl being upset that I want to avoid shipping. I have shipped stuff in the past but more recently I try to avoid the hassle (finding a box, getting the packing supplies, I overwrap to protect, and then driving an hour to the ups hub, I prefer using ups). But one of the main reasons is shipping is not "cheap" anymore and some ppl think you are trying to cheat them when you qoute the shipping price.

I appreciate the interest. And I have some local interested, so we will see how it goes.

Again I apologize

Yep, figure $75 to package/ship + all of the time involved. It may make sense on collectible or higher-priced items but it kinda kills things for regular guns.

Re: shipping -- my ffl will take care of everything for $75+/-. Not much more than it costs me to do it myself and no hassle. Doesn't make sense for cheap guns, though.

So someone drives to meet you at your dealer for the transfer...

NICS check delay means they go home and drive back again to get the rifle

In my case, I live in Illinois and even a N.C, or Va dealer has to hold it for 3 days after I sign the 4473. So I sit in a motel.
I'll give you $50 for the rifle and pay my dues. Where do you want to meet?

Are NC and VA so far gone that a fella cannot sell a long gun to another in-state fella without having to go thru a transfer?

If there is a C&R carve out on BGC, this firearm qualifies as a curio & relic.

yea shipping can be a pain...and $$$

I use USPS......and hold my breath.............):

Thanks for all the interest.

Local man got it for his teenage son. Looks like it went to a good home.
