I prefer a plain (non ribbed) barrel. And I’m not willing to wait many many years. Life’s too short for that.

I agree! I was pretty set in my ways and wanted a rib and MOD or IC chokes. You are more of a realist that I was. Free bump.

Decent deals can sometimes be found on GunBroker.
I lucked into a 1954 870 in 16 ga. for a good price a couple of months ago. Nobody else bidded on it.
