I have a friend wanting to sell a Kimber Talkeetna 375. Very nice condition with a minor stock ding. Any thoughts on appropriate pricing?

Most recent one on gunbroker went for $3k with 2 bids. I paid $2200 last year, buddy in ID found one for $1750 around the new year…. There’s quite a gap. But I’m no expert. Good luck

I paid 1700 for mine almost 2 years ago; was a classified ad (not on this site though)

I'm actually in the market for one and have been for awhile. I haven't seen any listed, new or used, until this week.

Obviously not priced right or it would have sold within an hour of being listed. It has some damage on the stock that can't help.

Midway has them listed at about $2360 NEW with an expectant "in stock" mid summer. I already checked on the one listed and its been used by 2 owners with about 100 shots fired and a bit rough stock. Over Priced so I passed.

Not by buddies rifle. His hasn't been hunted and is in nice condition.

Top dollar will most likely be realized selling at gunbroker.com. $3K, as mentioned above, seems like what I'd expect it to sell for there. Kimber rifles are scarce. I for sure see someone paying $3K+ for some instant gratification. Even after selling fee's, it's probably the best place to net the most money.

As I mentioned, I've been looking for a while, have well above average Google-Fu skills, and there just hasn't been many even listed, gunbroker.com or forums/classifieds, so recent pricing is challenging.



Seller on the ads I posted has dropped his price to $2,500 shipped. Maybe keep an eye on those listings to get a sense of what something might sell for.

Rifle sold for $2250 locally for those that were curious including some reloading items.

I have mine listed for $2600 here and a few other sites. That includes Talley bases and 30mm rings as well as Hornady does and 150 PCs Norma brass with 50 virgins and 93 loaded

I like Kimbers, but for $2,600 I would...

buy a used Winchester classic in 375 H&H ($1,200)
22 oz Bansner stock ($450)
stainless (sporter contour) barrel by Lilja Benchmark etc ($380)
Then use the remaining funds to pay someone to chamber it and bed it and end up with a rifle that would shoot in the 0.2's/.3's and weigh 6.5 lbs.

Pretty easy decision. Though I do like Kimbers.

You will have a tough time making that weight using a model 70. I’d figure 7 pounds. But aside from the hair split, that would be a nice way to go.

Yah you might be right. Basing that on a 26" Whelen I have, medium sporter contour on 90's classic action, muzzle diameter is .665 (at 26"). It's 6 lbs 11 oz in a brown stock with steel bases and aluminum bottom metal. I guessed it might come in a little lighter with thinner barrel walls and a 24" barrel. But...I might be overlooking something.

The new Bansners will go 26 ounces with recoil pad.
