Here's what i just picked up. Photos, details and prices to follow.

Winchester M70 in 30-06 made in 1955

Winchester M70 in 30 Govt with receiver sight, pre-war (1940)

Remington 03-A3 Springfield 30-06; probable replacement stock.

Parker 12ga SxS Damascus barrels made in 1895. Grade 2, frame size 1. Still has case coloring on the action flats, and closes like a bank vault. Nice shape...lots of research to do on this one.

Fox Sterlingworth 12ga, some rust speckles near the receiver that I'll rub out, but locks up tight.
I can't wait to hear details on the 3 model 70's.

This one is clean as they come.
Well, how about a price list then? smile
Posted By: Biebs Re: Next Group of Friend's Guns - 09/28/22
I saw the recoil pad added to the 1940 Model 70- was marked Cleveland Gun Shop. I found this link where the grandson gives honor to his grandfather who owned the shop way back when. Pretty cool...I wish these old rifles could talk.

Price on the Fox ?
Would like to know more on the mod 70 30-06 pls.
Posted By: Biebs Re: Next Group of Friend's Guns - 09/28/22
I'm still researching the Fox Sterlingworth. It's serial number 105547 with "Compressed Steel" 28" barrels and a Philadelphia address. Locks up tight. I'll get out my choke gauge when I take photos.

Interested in the Model 70 in .225 Winchester. What's the asking price?
Posted By: Biebs Re: Next Group of Friend's Guns - 09/28/22
The Win 225 is gone.
Posted By: Biebs Re: Next Group of Friend's Guns - 09/28/22
Here's the two M70 rifles. The pre-war (1940) rifle has the Lyman 45 WJS receiver sight. I'd love to strangle the guy who put the aftermarket pad on the 1940 rifle :-(

Here's the Remington 03-A3. Looks like some stock parts have been replaced, but a good shooter grade to play with. I'm thinking $824 + $60 to ship, as I won't be able to break it down to avoid the Priority Mail length surcharges.

Here's the Fox Sterlingworth. It's a 12ga, 28" M&F from the Philadelphia days. Locks up tight, but has some rust marks near the action that would polish down to improve the appearance. $695 + $35 shipping.

Whats the price on the 2 M70's.
It is tough to tell from the pictures but has the stock been cut on the '40 Model 70 or just a pad added? Is the notch for the "dog tooth" still on the top of the stock? What are the prices on them? I assume the rear bridge on the '40 hasn't been drilled?
Posted By: Biebs Re: Next Group of Friend's Guns - 09/28/22
How about $925 + $35 Priority Mail for the 1955 rifle. On the 1940 rifle, the receiver is D&T's. The LOP over the pad is 13 3/4", so the butt was trimmed to fit it. That one is hard to value with the mods made to it. I'd like to strangle whoever added the pad :-(
Posted By: Biebs Re: Next Group of Friend's Guns - 09/28/22
Hey, someone pointed out that the 1955 Model 70 is a Featherweight rifle, not a Standard Model 70.

It certainly appears to be
Posted By: Biebs Re: Next Group of Friend's Guns - 09/28/22
Yes, I checked...Featherweight marked on the barrel.
I'm interested in the pre-war Model 70, and yeah, it's a shame what was done to it. Asking price?

What are the prices?
Posted By: Biebs Re: Next Group of Friend's Guns - 09/28/22
Which one? Check your PMs.
Thought you had an 88?
Posted By: Biebs Re: Next Group of Friend's Guns - 09/29/22
That was the first rifle that sold, last night.
Posted By: bububb Re: Next Group of Friend's Guns - 09/29/22
What is the length of pull on the Featherweight? Has the stock been shortened? Ted
Posted By: Biebs Re: Next Group of Friend's Guns - 09/29/22
Bub, LOP is only 12 1/4", but to the original buttplate. Strange...special order?
Did I miss something, I never saw prices posted but some of the guns are sold? what happened? was pricing done thru PM's?
May be interested in the 03-A3. I’m looking for just an 03 but yours looks pretty nice. Please PM me details on what’s been replaced and what’s not matching

Apparently. I asked 3 times for prices and never got them. I moved on.
Posted By: Biebs Re: Next Group of Friend's Guns - 09/29/22
Mudder, sent you a PM.
How about some pics and price on the parker.
Do you know the secret internet handshake?
Posted By: Biebs Re: Next Group of Friend's Guns - 09/29/22
Greg, you're over your PM limit. Can't reach you.
Should be good now.
Posted By: Biebs Re: Next Group of Friend's Guns - 09/29/22
Back at ya.
I must be dim, I'm having a hard time sorting through what is sold and what is available at what price.
Posted By: Biebs Re: Next Group of Friend's Guns - 09/29/22
The opening post lists what is available....Model 70s, Rem 03-A3, Parker, Fox.
Posted By: Biebs Re: Next Group of Friend's Guns - 09/30/22
The 03-A3 is sold. If there's anything of interest, shoot me a PM.
This is a really good price on the Fox.
Posted By: Biebs Re: Next Group of Friend's Guns - 09/30/22
A little cleaning and polishing on that one and it would be ready for the field. It locks up as tight as a new gun and the barrels are bright.
Posted By: Biebs Re: Next Group of Friend's Guns - 10/01/22
The 1955 Featherweight is sold.
Posted By: Biebs Re: Next Group of Friend's Guns - 10/01/22
Fox Sterlingworth is sold.
Posted By: Biebs Re: Next Group of Friend's Guns - 10/01/22
Just the Parker shotgun and the 1940 Winchester Model 70 left now. Photos, details and prices available by PM.
I thought prices needed to be listed for items for sale?
