Friends

I have 4-100 round boxes from a run of +P.45 ACP 200 Grain Hard Cast Lead Semi Wadcutters.

These are what I nicknamed my "Jeff Cooper Specials" as Col. Cooper was a very big fan of a hot, hard cast SWC for defense purposes. Very early in his career, he advocated some hard cast SWC loads that were actually into the .45 Super territory but would eventually tame that down a bit, (these are not in the .45 Super range) which was a very good thing for both the shooter and the guns!

This is a well tuned and tested load that has been getting it done for knowledgeable 1911 shooters for decades.

Both for social work and in the game fields.

This +P load was tested using a Glock 21, Glock 30S, HK USP, 4506, 4563, and a couple of 1911s.

Velocity averaged 980 FPS using two test guns with 5" barrels.

The ammo runs through a Glock 21 like a Democrat runs through someone else's money!

You do know you are shooting a powerhouse though, when you are shooting these loads in a plastic gun! laugh

This is an outstanding all around game/defense load. I have used hot SWCs like this for years on animals up to and including Mule Deer and nothing has ever gotten away. cool

This run is produced in new Starline brass.

Price includes shipping and insurance.

It is $115 per 100 rounds to your door, which after S&I works out to about $45 per box of 50.

From here forward the ammo will be shipping in 50 round traditional boxes, rather than the 100 round Berry's and MTM plastic boxes previously used. Every now and then breakage was occurring due to the extreme handling by the shippers. Ammo will still be sold 100 rounds at a time, just shipped in more traditional heavier duty, impact resistant boxes.

* No, I don't sell them in boxes of 20. The shipping (not to mention packaging) is so costly that it makes no sense to do so.

I have only 4 (100 round) boxes available at the moment.

I take Venmo, USPS Money order, or checks (once cleared by the bank). I do not take paypal.

Please post the amount you want followed by a PM.

Again, it is $115 per 100 rounds shipped, insured TYD.

You have to be 21 since it is handgun ammo. Will only ship to places where legal and it is your responsibility to know your local laws. No shipping to restricted states or jurisdictions. CONUS only, and I do not ship to, MA, DC, CT, CA or other locations with restrictions.

BEFORE YOU SEND A PM, READ THE FAQS PLEASE.

Where was that mountain pic taken?

Reminds me of the Sawtooth mountains but I think it's somewhere else.
You are fairly close. The Sawtooths are about 70 miles west. The pics are from the Pahsimeroi valley.
Idaho and most of the west is so beautiful. Ya'll are so lucky to live there. Except for the winter wood cutting or power bills.

Did you ever get to meet Elmer Keith?
JD45.

About Elmer Keith.

His son Ted Keith lived down the road from us on Shamrock (what was then outside of Boise). My older sister took horse riding lessons there. I would ride my bike over and play with Elmer's grandson Greg sometimes while this was going on. Greg and I went to school together, though he was a year behind me. There were always a bunch of guns in Gregs house.

I vaguely recall his grandpa/older relatives sometimes being there but really never paid any attention as we were just kids paying and I really hardly remember much of that. Anyways, later I joined the Army and got into handgunning, and big into .44s. It was not until I was in my late teens that I realized that Greg's grandpa was actually Elmer Keith.

Keith died a few miles down the road from where I grew up, in a nursing home on Ustick Avenue in 1984. I always felt like I totally missed out by just a few years on knowing such an interesting guy. As it were I have met/known a number of locals from central ID who knew him, and my cabin is located in country he used to run around in frequently.
Wow. What a story. I met a few people in Stanley that knew of him. We were planning a trip to see his house but it never happened.
The house is still there.

He is buried at the local cemetery, in Salmon. His son Ted is as well.

Just for the Elmer fans:

Custom?
I'm going to Salmon the next time I'm in Idaho. I learned a lot from Keith.
Yes those are Herretts Ropers
