.......... .38 Special +P 158 grain Hard Cast Polymer Coated Semi Wadcutter........








Friends,

I have available a run of heavy duty, defense/hunting oriented loads for the .38 Special.

This is a +P load using a 158 grain polymer coated semi wadcutter bullet.

Brass is new Starline







In testing velocity numbers are as follows:

Ruger Security 6" 1200 FPS
S&W Model 15 4" 1115 FPS
S&W Model 442 1&7/8ths" 1020 FPS

While chronographing this load, I had the chance to compare this 158 grain poly SWC load to some American Eagle 158 grain .357 Magnum jacketed soft point.

The American Jacketed Soft Point .357 Magnum was 10-12 FPS slower on average than this Poly Coated SWC .+P 38 Special ammo.







25 yard accuracy was excellent as well:








In testing the loads through a couple J Frame 442s (aluminum frame, steel cylinder, 5 shot guns), I found the recoil to be extremely violent and too much for both the gun and shooter.

I absolutely DO NOT recommend that these loads be fired in a J Frame sized 5 shot revolver aluminum frame chambered in .38 Special.

If the gun is chambered for a .357 Magnum then you will be fine.




Like all the ammo sold, these are sold in 100 round increments.
