Do these have an inner liner at all so the wool isn't touching the skin? Also, are these windproof?

There is no inner liner.

When it's cold enough to don the wool, I generally start with a base layer.

Luckily, wool has never been a problem for me.

I had another pair of these that I wore to Hell and back, in all temperatures.

Worked great for archery bear hunts in Canada, even in warm/hot conditions, as the wool is thick enough that the skeets couldn't bore through it.

The wool has a fairly tight knit, but they are not windproof.

100% virgin wool

These are thee BEST wool pants out there.Have been wearing mine for almost 30 years. Have the coat and vest also. An engineer cap also. I always wear a set of Smart Wool bottoms and top under these.Normally pack the coat on my pack in the dark, till i get to hunting area,so I do sweat. I've stayed on a tree stand from dark to dark down to 15 degree.I had a guy make fun of me one day when I came to my pickup in the dark in a freezing rain snow .I said what are you sitting in you pickup for? Cause he was COLD. Nuff said
I also have KOM pants and shirt/jac and have been wearing them for 25 years. They are one of the two best wool hunting outfits you can own, the other is Grey Wolf Woolens.

You cannot go wrong with purchasing these.
How heavy are they?
Aalf, GLWS.

Giving up on cold weather hunting?

I hate to admit it, but probably so, gettin' soft......

That's the beauty of these, you don't have to wait for extreme cold to wear them.

Put many miles on the first pair bow hunting elk out west in mild weather, but still well armed for any change in conditions.

On a couple trips for caribou, no need to pack the kitchen sink. KOM shirt & pants, a good base layer, and rain gear.

Some of the best gear someone can own. I have two sets of KOM gear and I'm sure I will never come close to wearing out even one. If you've never handled KOM stuff, you don't understand how amazing it really is. This is generational stuff.
I will add that KOM was woven by Pendleton. So top quality.I had over $1,000 into my jacket, pants and vest 30 years ago! They were expensive, but I'm still wearing them.So lets say $30 A year rental...ya cant beat that!
