I have a few older Randalls and am looking for another older knife. I would prefer a user leather handled Randall but black or green micarta works.

Thanks, T4

Nordic knives has an older leather handle Randall in their listings.
How old is older?
How about this from another retired SF guy. Given to me as by 7th SF team member in 73. Told me it was special run of randall for agency, but looked like regular SOG with learther washer handle. Sent it to Bo Randall in 1997 for new micarta handle as the leather washer were coming apart. . Got nice letter back saying he would not put his handle on someone elses knife. Week later knife arrived back, polished blade, this handle, new shaped guard and a with hand written note from Bo that this was first knife to ever come back from that run and he put a handle on it no charge, stamped by name and polished blade. Told me to save it and never use it. Never used again, safe queen. Lost the note in house fire in 94, send the knife to gary randall and he confirmed his dads work but not authenticity due to poor records. Puzzled him why Bo would put his handle on a strange knife. Definitely SOG shaped blade and sheath and Randall lettering stamp. Not for sale.

Tim, 60’s or 70’s.

BH, that is some very cool history.

BHunter, here are a couple pictures of a nice 7th Grp knife that a very good friend gifted me. When they moved from Smoke Bomb hill to the new Ft Bragg compound, they had a few of these for the taking. I was in 1/7 but never on 721.

Go to Bladeforums.com and post it on the “Wanted to buy” section of their classifieds. Might have better luck there. It’s my go-to site for anything knife related.
Thanks DFly
be careful of responders to your want to buy ad if you place it. the scammers love to take advantage of those posters. don't ask me how i know:)
You bet. It’s a good site but Steve is right. Although you can mitigate that to a great degree by staying away from someone with no feedback or very little activity on the site. Check to make sure they’re on the up and up in the feedback section there as well.

If you need any help let me know. I’ve been a member there a long time. Obviously I can’t guarantee results or vouch for someone I don’t know but I can give you a few pointers. Mostly it’s common sense. Ask detailed questions and insist on detailed pics with a current date handwritten on a scrap of paper by the item. If they give you even a tiny bit of pushback - run from the deal. That goes for any internet interaction on any site as far as I’m concerned.

I just bought two knives there. One a user Id been looking for through the WTB section at a decent price. The other basically brand new in the box at an even better price. Like I said, good site - maybe the best for knives - if you navigate it properly.
If you are on facebook there are several Randall dedicated pages that you can get good traction on... Also google Harrison Mitchell Randall knives... He has a website with older randalls for sale.... He has an extensive collection of older randall fighting knives as well and not everything he has is listed so I would contact him as well if you are looking for something specific.
Thanks fellas.

I have a R1 stainless (probably not older). I don't know how old it is as I bought it at a garage sale and am not really a knife guy. Will sell for a good price, a dam bit lower than ebay. If interested pm me.
