Step by step:

1. Google post images

2. Click on: Postimages — free image hosting / image upload - this should get you to: https://postimages.org/

3. Click on Choose images

4. this should take you to your computer - I chose the file give the bird

5. Near the bottom of the screen is hotlink for forums Hotlink for forums: on the far-right side is a small icon - click on it and there will be a reply "copied"

6. go to you thread in classified and hit paste:

7. here's my picture I chose "Give the bird"

sometimes post images will add a line or two - advertising - with a little practice you can delete the advertising if you desire.

I really do not care what option you choose to post pictures. But it is a waste of everyone's time when the thread says: I cannot post pictures due to...

It's a piece of cake how to post pictures if you don't use the 24Campfire method. Other methods are easy also, I understand, but post images is soooo easy.

I may be retarded. I can't see where you "hit paste" in the thread you want to post a pic into.

Right click on the thread the option to paste will come up. Otherwise, place pointer where you want to paste, hold down the Ctrl button and press the letter "V".

It is! At the top of every page on 24hcf RickBin has instructions on how to post secure photos within his server space. The only hassle I run into with his method is occassionally the images are larger than his 2.5mb limit. This becomes annoying to edit/scale/crop images then. It should be an automatic feature. I know it can be done, we do it on the website I run at work when surgeons upload x-rays - upscale or downscale depending on what we need.

While that method works, the pictures are usually way to small or you need to go to another part of the site to see them.

imgur.com is easier and gives you full size photos like this:

Most photo editors like paint.net allow for saving as and adjusting/reducing the resolution to reduce the file size. That is different from cropping or scaling. It is still extra effort required however. Can't fault Rick for limiting file sizes though and 2.5 mb is plenty for good image resolution.

None of that is an issue however if using an image host like postimages or imgur along with the img tags and url link to the hosted image.

There is another way to attach images to the post that has a very low limit of 100k which pre-dates the 24hourcampfire image gallery . Some folks get hung up on or confused by that thinking it's the only way to attach images and they give up.

Took all of about 15 seconds to execute the pic posting. (Golf ball mortar I built last summer.)

I have no dog in the fight on which picture posting method a person uses. But the one here on 24 isn't as easy as some methods, at least for me. I think it's a waste of the seller's time and the purchaser's time let alone people who might be thinking about buying without pictures.


Post the pictures of what you want to sell and no more, "I can't post pictures" or I'll send you pictures if you PM me.

First try at posting a pic!

The only problem I have posting pics from my iPad is that the file sizes are too large. Used to crop them, but I found an app that lets me reduce the file size and preserve the aspect ratio. It’s Image Size. I post the altered image in the Image Gallery, then copy it to the thread post where I want it to appear. I have to delete the text that appears in the pop-up before pasting the copied link.

It took more time to find this picture in my photo gallery than it took to post it.

A lot of this has to do with security. Phones security settings limit display or web redirection as most pics hosted by a 3rd party website redirect links are blocked.
