I would like to buy a 410 double barrel for a grandson. Let me know if you have one for sale,
C.Moore

Are you looking for modern or old? I have an old American Gun Company SXS with exposed hammers that is fun to shoot.

A modern gun would work best for this young man, Thanks C.Moore

The CZ is probably the best way to go. Both barrels should shoot to the same place with one. My son bought a 20 ga for a grandson for this Christmas. Around $600 as I recall.
Good luck,
Rick

Might be better off with a 20ga shooting low brass shells. A 410 is usually choked F-F....limited range and pattern. He can "grow into" a 20.

Find an Academy Sports. Look at their Yildiz "elegant" 410ga sxs. Will remind you of a Cz. Weighs about 3.3lbs. And comes with 5 choke tubes. Safety does not automatically go back on safety when you shoot amd break it down, so be mindful of that. I love mine. Around $500 plus tax. Yildiz had a good following from people on shotgunworld.com.

I know you're asking for a side by side, but I think I have an older Stevens 410 pump that would make a fine youth gun if you have an interest. I'll be happy to pull it out of the back of the closet this evening and share all the details.
If memory serves correct, it show some honest use and wear, but it's perfectly shootable and functional.
Good luck with your search,
Ed

A 3 pound side by side?

Somewhere I've heard 3.3lbs. I'm not sure. Might be 4lbs or a tad over, but they are extremely light and a good handling shotgun. Made on a petite 410 frame. If you have never handled one go into academy, if they have one I dare say that you will probably take it with you. I've used one for yrs now.

If you want a side by side that both barrels impact the same place and you want the safety to work avoid the Yildiz. Getting a decent shotgun starts with CZ and goes up from there. I teach the clay target sports and have experience with many many shotguns. Don’t go less than CZ, you aren’t saving money.
Good luck to you!

I have a cz sxs as well. The safety on it does not automatically go back on safety either. That's what a lot of skeet shooters prefer. They don't want to step up to the line and forget it went on safety. Not sure if you have dealt with many Yildiz but for the money they aren't bad shotguns. Go over to shotgunworld and read the raving reviews of some guys shooting rounds and rounds of skeet with the 410 sxs. I've had many side by side shotguns. I have merkels in 20ga and 28ga as well. For the money the yildiz shoots is not a bad gun. Shoots where I aim, both barrels. And I have several Cz's. Remember at one time cz was a cheap gun.
