This is a beautifully highly customized Estwing Sportsman's Hatchet by Josh Clarke. Originally made as a pretotype- it is one of a kind and the pictures do not do it justice. Josh started with a hand picked a well ground symmetrical hatchet from a dealers inventory. He then went to work giving the blade an aggressive Speed grind Convex edge similar to that on Competition axes. It is razor sharp.

He then "Boat tailed" the rear poll section to reduce drag in chopping . He also radiused the to poll edges so that it can be used for flaying hides etc. The poll still has enough flat area on the back for hammering tent stakes etc.

After regrinding the head, Josh went to work "dehorning" the hatchet by polishing an rounding every sharp edge on the hatchet. The only sharp edge on the hatchet is now the blade's cutting edge. The piece was then has been hand polished all over and the metal finished in a cold gun blue.

The leather handle was hand finish sanded and dyed a rich mahogany brown Then a multi- coat spar varnish was applied and buffed between cost. . He then created hand stitched edge mask with welt from bridle leather. The overall length is 13.5 inches long with a 3" cutting edge on the blade. The hatchet weighs 24 ounces and carries Josh's Longsword blade mark deeply etched into the blade.

My Price on this is $139 shipped. And form of payment is fine but PayPal is preferred. Thanks.

They are made in Illinois, I believe.

The axe is now sold.

I will be passing along inquiries for more of them to Josh, so anyone interested in one down the road, shoot me a PM.
I received the hatchet in excellent condition. The box was packed very well. It is hair-shaving sharp and made short work of some storm related tree limbs that fell near my treestands.

Thanks, Dinny
