First year edition ( 1950 ):336;SC 35/Rem

Jim Brockman target crown, trigger, action work.

Drilled and tapped, sling studs, weaver base. Non factory rear sight.

The forearm has a little wiggle, needs a shim or tightened. It’s hardly noticeable unless you shake it.

Clean bore, shoots well. However I notice the lever pops open shooting my warmer reloads.

Shoots factory fine.

I don’t remember sticky extractions. Just the lever popping loose.

$785 Shipped CONUS from individual.

Thanks

Why would you want to run "warmer loads " through a nice rifle like that ?

What do you gain with doing that in a 35 ?

Just 2 cents .

I have several other 35 Remington. And a chronograph.

??.?.?.
.?..
.?

It’s my understanding the 35 Remington load data is based on the weaker 35 Remington auto action.
I believe the 336 action is much stronger.

Probably a little head room in a typical Marlin 336 given the 30-30 Winchester operates at higher pressure than the 35 Remington. That said each rifle is a law unto itself and if strange things happen towards the upper end prudence (bless her) dictates backing off until normalcy is achieved. I would be quite happy with a couple grains less powder and a good shooting load. A deer at 75 paces won't miss it. I've witnessed more than one 35 Remington smacks to know they are authoritative, that is the deer usually drop in their tracks.

A very nice old carbine for a very reasonable price. I just bought one, otherwise I’d grab this in a NY minute.

I have a 1950 in .32. Shoots great. I could use a twin in .35 but no room in the safe.

I consider trades………

You could hang it on the wall.

Is 1950 the first year of the SC or the 35 Remington?

I have peep / receiver sights available
I can't believe this gun is still here! I looked hard most of the year and finally found one in good shape for a decent price this fall. Killed two deer with it. My partner just got one last week. This is a damn nice 336 in .35 Rem. You can't go wrong with it or doing business with Angus. I'd jump on it folks. Wish it had been here when I was looking. It would be in MI in a heart beat.
