Why do you consider it a project?
Who did the work and what stock is on it?
Thanks.

This is what I was thinking. Maybe a completed project 🤔
I have never seen a CLR with a barrel contour large enough to be threaded 5/8

Maybe it has a shoulder ring installed.
Gang’s all here, just waiting on a the right answer to pounce! 😂

A Shilen #3 (sporter) contour calls for .625" at the muzzle full-length. The OP says it was cut back to 22". Would be a stretch to get 5/8" threads, but maybe?
Grover,
Is this the rifle you had Larry McCorkel with Larry’s Gun Works re-barrel for you about a month ago? Is it still in the original Colt Light Rifle factory stock?
The Shilen #3 cut back to 22” can be cut 5/8x24 for a suppressor. I have a dozen of them threaded for that.
curious on the stock. Would be a fun one.
Yes, it still has the CLR stock. Gunsmithing done by Larry McCorkle at Larry's Gun Works. Remington 01 knows Larry very well if want another opinion about Larry's work. Will try to post some pics. Scope is not for sale, but rings included.

Larry does great work. Has built me over two dozen rifles in past 10 years. He blueprints the action. Trues bolt, lugs and recoil lug.Everything he has done for me have been great shooters.
The CLRs I have had redone have smaller contours .575 at the muzzle
Wt. with the CLR stock approx. 7 lbs.
The fellas at OutKast could probably build a lighter stock in the same manner mr Forbes would have…make for a nice cheaper version of a NULA.
Looks like most the weight is in the barrel.
The scope is not for sale with the rifle.
